Where did you study?
I studied at the University of Cape Town, majoring in Psychology and Organisational Psychology as an undergraduate. I specialised in Change Management during my Honours and completed my Masters in Organisational Psychology.
Why did you decide on HR as a career?
I enjoy working with people and I find psychology in a business environment captivating. I enjoy the challenge and thrill of exploring the hidden meaning of things in a work environment and understanding human behaviour at work. Often the human element tends to take a backseat in organisations as employers focus on the commercial aspects of the business. Considering the increased competitiveness and the challenging demands of today’s world, organisations not only need people who are able to do the job, but also those who are motivated to consistently add value to the business in both short and long term. Several factors influence employees’ performance and motivation, hence organisational performance. This field reconciles psychology and the world of work in a fascinating manner.

How have you experienced Work Dynamics so far?
Work Dynamics has been a steep learning curve. The right guidance and the team environment take me a step closer to my goals each and every day. I am enjoying the challenge and I feel that this is the right environment for an intern who wants to learn, apply his knowledge and become the psychologist he aspires to.

I am really happy to be in a job that is so well aligned with my field of study and interest. The amount of theoretical knowledge that I have been able to implement has been great and I have learned a lot in a short space of time. I look forward to what’s to come and to continue building on the theoretical foundation that I bring to the job.
