International standards

It was teamwork and fine coordination at its best when Work Dynamics assisted the international steel manufacturer, ArcelorMittal, with development programmes for their South African senior and executive employees. The project was obtained through our close collaboration with the Cubiks group.
Angelique Diedericks, Executive Consulting Psychologist at our Port Elizabeth office, was the project leader and had a very busy couple of months coordinating this intricate project. "It was a challenge, but we have really enjoyed every moment and the international exposure we received was absolutely invaluable," she says.
Cubiks asked Work Dynamics to assist the South African ArcelorMittal team with full competency based assessments. This included assessment batteries for 23 executives that were implemented by two Work Dynamics assessors at a time. Each one of them was also responsible to compile a feedback report.
"Logistically this project was quite a challenge," says Angelique. "This included Work Dynamics travelling throughout South Africa to present the assessments, reporting back to ArcelorMittal's Belgium office as well as keeping our Cubiks partner in the loop. We had our work cut out for us."
It was especially interesting to see how the European and South African feedback reports are compiled differently. "The Belgium office actually decided to adopt some of our processes and motivations, which gave Work Dynamics valuable exposure to the international HR scene," she says. "There were some interesting differences in nuances, but it was also great to see we are really up to standard and can easily render valuable services to international companies."
After this project Work Dynamics standardised their assessments even more and our psychologists really enjoyed the experience. "We look forward to more collaboration with Cubiks in the future and also the opportunity of offering our other clients the benefits of what we've learnt from this partnership," says Angelique.
